Hershey is bringing out the big guns to try and sway the PIAA.

Chocolatetown wants the state basketball championships back and NBA superstar Kobe Bryant agrees!

In a 30-secoond video message for the PIAA, Bryant said, "Bring the championships back to where they belong. To Hershey."

Bryant's Lower Merion team won a 1996 state title.

State College currently hosts hoops, but there have been concerns over low ticket sales. Other bidders include the Louis J. Tullio Arena in Erie and the Bryce Jordan Center at PSU.

 Kudos to Mcdevitt, I am so proud of this team not for just the good seasons but for all. I am a 2nd generation crusader of 3 gens.  We have been going to McD events since my mom graduated in 1941. My brother "66" myself "69" & my sister "83". I currently have a neice "2012" who was a cheerleader last year and is in the band this year, and her sister who will graduate in "2014". I also have a brother-in-law and another neice who graduated from McD.  I will attend my 40th reunion this Nov. at our beloved Tracy Hall, I know the kids need a new school but there is something special about Our Twin Towers.

Students at Penn Manor High School are expressing shock and sadness over the sudden death of teacher and coach Jeff Churchill.

"He was like a father figure to all of us. He made sure we did what we had to do in the classroom, made sure we didn't go out on the weekends and do bad stuff," said former player Kyle Denlinger.

Churchill, 31, collapsed Saturday night and died. His death was caused by an apparent heart defect. Friends said Churchil hadn't been feeling well on Friday.

He was a special education teacher and boys basketball coach at Penn Manor for five years.

"He was a good coach. He was always there for us and told us that he loved us," said player Sam Cornell.

Students and parents say Churchill was a strong leader and a good coach.

"Jeff was always a very good, strong moral example for the boys. He gave them strong leadership and direction," said Booster Club President Steve Cornell.

Churchill is survived by his wife and the couple's one-year-old daughter.

For the second year in a row, the Philadelphia Eagles will travel to Cedar Crest High School for the Michael H. Wise, II Memorial Foundation.

Michael H. Wise, II was a police officer killed in the line of duty in Reading, PA in June 2004. He and his wife grew up in the Lebanon area and were both graduates of Cedar Crest High School. Michael's mother has work at the school for many years as a teacher's aide, and his father served in the Lebanon City police force for his entire law enforcement career.

Players from the Philly Eagles will visit the Falcons on March 27, 2090 for a game a basketball as part of a fundraiser for the Michael H. Wise, II Memorial Foundation. Autographed and licensed Eagles items will be raffled during the event. Following the game, Eagles players will hold a 30-minutes FREE autograph session, so bring your memorabilia!

Teams comprised of police officers, Cedar Crest HS faculty and students, as well as family of Michael's will compete in the event. Doors will open at 5:30pm, and WGAL High School Playbook will be there covering all the action!

Tickets are $10 if purchased prior to March 27^th, and $15 at the door. Children 4 and under are free. Tickets are available at Cedar Crest High School by contacting Sue Tompkins (717.272.2003 ext. 5923).

The Michael H. Wise, II Memorial Foundation was created by friends and family of Michael's to honor him and serve the community. The Foundation has funded scholarships and has contributed to charities benefitting families of fallen officers. The Foundation recently contributed funds to reestablish a K-9 unit in Reading, PA. A K-9 car now bears his name and badge number.

The 56^th Presidential Inaugural will take place at noon on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, and many  high school bands and choirs from around the nation will be attending the Presidential Inaugural Heritage Music Festival (January 16^th-20^th).
