I know this may sound stupid to some people, but since field hockey and football are the same season why not have the marching band play at the field hockey games that arn't on friday. I play clarinet in the marching band right now. I have also played field hockey for two seasons. Everybody goes to the football games, especially the students. Just look at the field hockey bleachers, compared to the football stadium's bleachers. Us, field hockey players are luckey to have 30 people come.
Field hockey is just as exciting, and cool as football. It takes skill, endurence, stamina, and strerength. It blows my mind why people perfer football. So to get more students to come to field hockey games, we should have the marching band play for that too. According to the law equal amounts of money are supposed to go to both male and female athletics. I know the guys football is getting more money than girls field hockey. As I said before just look at the bleachers, the ticket stand, the press box, the band, the uniforms. We charge money for football games, maybe if field hockey did that too, we could have more money for the girls.
I know that won't happen if people don't even show an interest in field hockey, so come to a game or two. Maybe you'll enjoy it, and then maybe attendecne at games will spike, and we'll get the equal attention we deserve. Don't you think the band at field hockey too is a great way to show equality for boys and girls sports?
