It’s playoff time in Susquehanna Valley and we saw some blowouts as well as a couple of shockers on the gridiron. Check out the rundown to see if you’re team is headed to round 2.
GAME OF THE WEEK: Littlestown vs. Milton Hershey: Littlestown shocked the Valley when they knocked off previously unbeaten West York in the closing of the regular season. On the other side, Milton Hershey lost its first three games and then ran the table! Who’s still in the hunt for a district title?
Shippensburg vs. Manheim Central: The Barons starting its second trip to the district playoffs while it was just Shippensburg’s second time in the postseason.
Conestoga Valley vs. Northern: The Buckskins’ big year continues as they pull off a surprise against Northern.
Spring Grove vs. Central Dauphin: Here is a matchup you would otherwise never see! CD was coming off an emotional roller coaster victory in the last game of the regular season, but could they regroup quick enough to surpass the Rockets?
Middletown vs. Trinity: This pair met up weeks ago in the rain and gave a low-scoring classic! They meet again in the district playoffs only without the mud and even fewer points.
Muhlenberg vs. Cumberland Valley: The Eagles came out ready to attack and kept the momentum throughout the game.
Cedar Cliff vs. South Western: This game was probably one of the best matchups of the first round of playoffs!
York Suburban vs. Lancaster Catholic: The Crusaders had their hands full with a tough York Suburban in the first half, but simply dominated the second.
Kennard-Dale vs. Hershey: Kennard-Dale made just its second appearance in the district playoffs, but faced Hershey and a stout defense.
Governor Mifflin vs. Manheim Township: This might have been the fastest high school football game in history! Governor Mifflin ran the ball 55 times and threw just once!
ELCO vs. Cocalico: This one turned into a high-scoring game, but Cocalico’s Jonathan Smoker helped smoke the Raiders.
Chambersburg vs. Penn Manor: This matchup proved to be a go big or go home game!
Mechanicsburg vs. West York: The defending champs Bulldogs rallied to start its defense of the district title.
New Oxford vs. Susquehanna Township: Hanna might be the fastest team in the AAA field and they faced a New Oxford team that has had a problem with turnovers all year.
Wyomissing vs. Delone Catholic: Wyomissing struck first, but Delone got things going with a 90-yard touchdown run and never looked back.
Camp Hill vs. Steel-High: The Rollers entertained Camp Hill and got the ball rolling on the opening kickoff.
