All eyes were on Manheim Central and Mechanicsburg and the two put on a show.

report notes | more reports

Undefeated Mechanicsburg hosted Manheim Central in the District Semifinals and the Barons were ready to go against the Wildcats.

Third Quarter: With less than 4 minutes to play the Wildcats have the 14-12 lead, but the Barons have it on the 4. Manheim's Joe Gruber gets the ball and it appeared as though he was stuffed, but he bounces to the outside and into the end zone. Manheim takes a 20-14 lead.

Fourth Quarter: Same score with 7 minutes left in the game. Mechanicsburg drives it down to the Barons 10 where QB Jake Zeigler calls his own number. Zeigler goes up the middle, spins away from one tackler, and muscles his way in for the score. Wildcats go up 21-20.

But watch out for those special teams! Wildcats kickoff to Barons' Alex Shenk and it looks like he fakes the handoff but no, he keeps it to himself and goes the distance. 80-yards to a TD and the Barons take the lead back just like that. 26-21.

Still plenty of time for Mechanicsburg to put together a winning drive. Down to their last play, 4 down and 2-yards to go, Manheim's Travis Ebersole picks off Zeigler's pass.

That would end the Wildcats' dream season as the Barons hold on to beat Mechanicsburg 26-21.
